What is arm lifting:
Arm lifting, also known as the braquioplastia, with or without the arm liposuction ,involves removing the excess of skin and fat to create an younger, firmer and more enjoyable outline.
Arms lifting surgery:
Duration of arm lifting surgery and type of anesthesia (general or local with sedation) differs depending on the complexity of the procedure. The length of the incision model varies depending on the amount and location of excess skin and fat to be removed. The incisions are usually made on the inside of the arm or on the back of the arm, depending on the surgeon‘s preference and may be extend to just above the elbow armpit. Excess skin will be removed and the remaining skin will be ascended and repositioned, gaining this way a smooth, firm, young skin. If fat reduction is necessary, this will be removed by surgery or liposuction. The incisions are closed with absorbable sutures or non-absorbable depending on the complexity of the intervention. If there are non-absorbable sutures, they will be removed two weeks later. After arm lifting it will be applied dressings and the arms will be wrapped in an elastic sleeve to prevent swelling and to support the skin and tissues to adapt to the new shape.
Arms lifting recovery:
In the first week after arm lifting : a tourniquet will be used for the arms; inflammation reaches the maximum in two to three days after surgery; if you keep your arm high with pillows it can help to reduce inflammation.
Two weeks after arm lifting: it will be extracted any non-absorbable thread; the arms can be washable; you can resume activity that does not involve strenuous exercise.
Having an arm lift is not a weight loss solution, it is a surgery done for contouring and shaping the arms. This way you’ll have to take care of your diet and work further with a nutritionist and a gym instructor.
The aesthetic gain resulting from arm lifting, braquioplastia, is evident almost immediately after the procedure, although initial results will be somewhat blurred by swelling and bruising, which will disappear gradually over a period of three to four weeks. The new shape of your arms will be dramatically improved, both visually and at touch.
