Medical tourism in Romania:

  Regarding medical tourism in Romania, the foreigners who are treated in this country pay 45% less on average than the rate that would be paid for the same medical service in the country of origin. In some cases, the treatment received by the foreign patients in Romania can be 70% cheaper than in their country of origin.

Generally from all the foreigners who are treated in this country, the Italians, French,  Spanish, Germans are the biggest consumers of medical services in Romania and they come here mainly for dental care, plastic surgery, orthopedics, cardiology , fertility, ophthalmology  and spa treatments.

Medical tourism in Lebanon:

   Lebanon became an important center for regional health tourism in the Middle East, as it has all the elements of medical tourism with a wide number of hospitals and advanced equipment. There are 161 hospitals in Lebanon, including 7 university hospitals. Lebanon can provide a broad basket of medical specialties for cures, including diagnosis of heart disease, therapeutic and surgical techniques for the treatment of heart disease , cosmetic surgery and weight loss, cancer, physical therapy and pediatric care.

The Lebanon today, has the best private hospitals and doctors in the region, for the various specializations. There are also many local academic institutions, accredited in Europe and in the United States, for the training of highly qualified medical personnel. The private sector has a flourishing market of private medical insurance, in rapid expansion, and a growth in the field of medical tourism. However, about half of the Lebanese people remain almost uninsured. For this population are the public forms of insurance but have a limited package of benefits covered and cost sharing.

Beirut, is positioned as the capital of cosmetic surgery. In addition, Lebanon has the highest number of “in vitro” fertilization clinics in the Middle East.

Medical tourism in Lebanon is not limited exclusively to a wealthy clientele. The services are sought by the Lebanese , the  Europeans tourists and those of the Gulf.
