Urology is the surgical specialty dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of renal and urinary system diseases in male and female (kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra). Urology is closely related to other medical fields: andrology, nephrology, gynecology and oncology. Nephrology is the branch of medicine that deals with the study of kidney function and kidney diseases. It treats non-surgical renal pathology, pre and post-surgical and systemic diseases affecting kidney: diabetes, high blood pressure (hypertension), vasculitis, collagenosis.
